MINDED.RUHR

MINDED.RUHR: My INdividual Digital EDucation

MINDED.RUHR focuses on the one hand on the combined provision of educational content from various training providers with the Moodle content of public educational institutions, and on the other hand on the individualized provision of suitable content for different target groups and learning types.

The challenge

The project is based on the high shortage of skilled workers and the resulting need for further training in the healthcare sector.

The only steadily growing sector independent of the economy lacks suitably qualified specialists in medicine, nursing, administration and technology at all levels. In the face of rapid change and pressure on the system to be efficient as a result of demographic change and digital transformation, the content taught in studies and training does not go far. New knowledge must be imparted in the form of continuing education in ever shorter periods of time. In the process, classroom training is increasingly being supplemented or even substituted by digital formats.

Our performance

MINDED.RUHR aims to build an open system of continuing education offerings from different platforms and Moodle educational content. At the same time, the research and development of an AI-supported, automated provision of content that is specifically tailored to the needs of the educational addressees is carried out. A target group matrix will be developed, which will serve as a basis for the preparation of the educational content and in turn for the AI-supported, automated provision of the individualized educational content. The solution is being developed locally in the Ruhr reference region, but is intended to be transferable both nationwide and beyond the health content. Fraunhofer ISST is involved in the project in the networking of the continuing education platforms and in the AI application for the individualized provision of learning content.

The results

The MINDED.RUHR project provides educational content from various continuing education providers combined with Moodle content from public educational institutions. In addition, it aims to provide suitable content for different target groups and learning types in an individualized manner. In this way, the project addresses the development fields I and III of the innovation competition "Digital Platform for Continuing Professional Education - INVITE".
