Linking Haier's customer platform COSMOPlat to the GAIA-X architecture

The project deals with the conceptual integration of GAIA-X components into the COSMOPlat platform of the project partner Haier. With this customer platform, the global market leader for household appliances provides support in optimizing the manufacturing processes of its products, among other things. The connection to GAIA-X and the associated integration of the International Data Spaces (IDS) will open up a new customer group with additional potential users, who will place their priorities on the core aspects of the IDS. These customers will be able to take advantage of new digital services from Haier, which at the same time take into account the aspects of data sovereignty with regard to data exchange and use.

The challenge  

The integration of GAIA-X and IDS concepts into the complex platform COSMOPlat is a multifaceted task. Scientists and developers from various disciplines work hand in hand to develop and evaluate integration alternatives. In particular, the intended goals of acquiring new customer groups must be taken into account in the design and the underlying business processes and models.

Our contribution 

Within the framework of the project, the Fraunhofer ISST is developing a concept for the integration of the digital platform COSMOPlat in GAIA-X and the IDS in close cooperation with the project partner. To this end, the Fraunhofer ISST is contributing its existing expertise in data ecosystems, cloud transformation and platform design to the concept. Based on selected use cases, various integration points will be identified. In the further course of the project, a concrete use case will be developed together with a German partner company. Using IDS-Connectors, this will allow a sovereign data exchange between the German partner and COSMOPlat in accordance with the GAIA-X infrastructure. On the basis of the use case concept, the Fraunhofer ISST will provide the two partners with advice during the technical implementation phase.

Results  

The aim of the project "Linking Haier's customer platform COSMOPlat to the GAIA-X architecture" is to enable the project partner Haier with its platform COSMOPlat to link to GAIA-X and the IDS. This will be realized by developing an integration concept and consulting support. This offers Haier the potential to win a large number of new partners from the European and non-European environment with COSMOPlat.
