myEFA – Mobile Access to Documents from the EFA
Transparency for providers and patients
Always being informed as a patient about the current medical data from the electronic case record, even on the go? This works with myEFA. Fraunhofer ISST has developed this expansion which promises maximum patient autonomy. A protected data transfer shall be made possible by the app »myEFA« that the patient can install and activate on his smartphone. Exported data can then be retrieved from the myEFA infrastructure and conveniently be cached on the mobile device. The patient can have it displayed himself and can share the medical data on different channels in order to provide them for additional service providers such as established doctors who don’t use the EFA. Intended here is the sending via e-mail and fax. The initial activation of the myEFA app on the patient's mobile phone is made via a bar code that is generated in each case for the patient and handed to him.
From this mobile app solution arise enormous advantages both for service providers and for the patients: Firstly, the patient has access to his health data stored in the EFA at any time and any place. Secondly, service providers who don’t yet use the EFA infrastructure can still receive EFA data which are characterized by a high intersectoral relevance. Also patients value-added services can be offered in the future on the basis of the health data that exist in the myEFA app – for example, this includes the possibility of monitoring or separate data acquisition.
