Dataspace Connector: entry point to GAIA-X
My company data? Under control!
Using the Dataspace Connector as a building block of GAIA-X
At the Hannover Messe Digital Edition from April 12-16, the Fraunhofer Research Center Data Spaces in the Fraunhofer Cluster Cognitive Internet Technologies CCIT will present the Dataspace Connector as a simple and lightweight entry into sovereign data exchange.
The Dataspace Connector (DSC) enables organizations to easily get started with trusted data exchange using International Data Spaces (IDS) and GAIA-X. Whether it's personal data, as in the Digital Life Journey, or industry data, such as inventory and process data: GAIA-X and IDS have many application areas. Real-time applications such as factory control through edge cloud computing are also possible. With the Dataspace Connector, implementations are now much easier and thus attractively feasible for many companies in a wide range of industries.
As open source software, the Dataspace Connector (DSC) provides an important foundation for secure data exchange between companies. The implementation concept of the DSC has been successfully tested in December 2020 according to the certification criteria with "IDS-ready" of the International Data Spaces Association (IDSA). This means that the DSC meets all the requirements of the International Data Spaces (IDS) for sharing data with others in a trustworthy and confident manner. Interested companies and users can view the source code directly via Github, use it and, if necessary, further develop it together with the community.

#WeKnowSolutions: In the LiveStream, our experts will present the Dataspace Connector and answer the questions:
- How do companies get to a concrete implementation of Gaia-X and
International Data Spaces and what do they get out of it?
- What contribution does the Dataspace Connector DSC make to this?
- How can companies use it?
- Why do we need such a connector component?
- What is the advantage of open source development?
