Prof. Dr. Boris Otto

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Boris Otto (born 1971 in Hamburg) is Managing Director at the Fraunhofer Institute for Software and Systems Engineering ISST in Dortmund since January 2017. He also holds the Chair for Industrial Information Management (formerly Audi-Endowed Chair of Supply Net Order Management) at TU Dortmund University, a position he took over in September 2013. After receiving a Dipl.-Ing. oec. degree in Industrial Engineering and Management in Hamburg, Otto obtained his doctorate degree (Dr.-Ing) at the University of Stuttgart under supervision of Prof. Dr. Hans-Jörg Bullinger, former president of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft. He received his post-doctoral qualification (habilitation) from the School of Management at the University of St. Gallen at the chair of Prof. Dr. Hubert Österle, where he founded and headed the Competence Center Corporate Data Quality.

His professional career also comprises various responsibilities at PricewaterhouseCoopers, SAP and Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering IAO. In addition, Otto was a research fellow at the Center for Digital Strategies at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, New Hampshire, USA. In 2014, he joined Fraunhofer ISST as the head of the Fraunhofer Innovation Center for Logistics and IT (FILIT). Otto's research focuses on the areas of industrial information management, business and logistics networks as well as methods for the design of digital business solutions.

Prof. Dr. Jakob Rehof

Prof. Dr. Jakob Rehof (born in 1960 in Denmark) is heading Fraunhofer ISST since 2006.

He studied computer science and mathematics at University of Copenhagen and received his doctorate degree in information science. In addition to this, he also studied classical philology (ancient greek and latin) and philosophy.

After several years of project management at the Microsoft Research Labs in Redmond, Rehof works at Fraunhofer ISST in particular on networked and distributed software systems, Cloud Computing, composition of software services, information logistics, workflow management and the specification and implementation of business processes.

Furthermore, Rehof holds the Chair of »Software Engineering« at the TU Dortmund University.
