Annual Report 2022

In 2022, Fraunhofer ISST found good working conditions that literally offer room for creativity and open the view for new perspectives by moving into a new building, the so-called "Lighthouse" in the digital quarter Dortmunder Hafen. But the move was not the only thing that moved the institute in 2022: This year also saw the celebration of the institute's 30th birthday. The great response from customers, partners and companions at our ceremony under the motto "New Spaces for Data and People" on September 8, 2022 in the Dortmunder U showed that the Institute's content strikes a chord with the times.

Together with many companions, Fraunhofer ISST was therefore also able to advance important projects and initiatives in the past year:

• Catena-X revolutionizes the handling of data in the automotive industry.
• The Fair Data Space and the Mobility Data Space network research and mobility data in a new quality.
• In the "Health-X dataLOFT" project, data from the first and second health sectors are combined and made usable for better health care according to Gaia-X standards.
• The Data Spaces Support Center (DSSC), whose project office is headed by Fraunhofer ISST, has been bringing the many data space activities at the European level even closer together since fall 2022 and making experiences usable across sectors.
